Nagpur: The Mahindra Nagpur Manufacturing Facility was announced by the Mahindra Group as its largest integrated manufacturing facility for automobiles and tractors in India, marking a major milestone in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
The announcement was made during Advantage Vidarbha, a three-day flagship event aimed at positioning Vidarbha as an emerging industrial growth hub on India’s manufacturing map.
Mahindra has committed an investment of ₹15,000 crore over a 10-year period in Maharashtra, with production at the Nagpur facility scheduled to begin in 2028.
Mahindra Nagpur Manufacturing Facility to Strengthen Industrial Ecosystem
The state-of-the-art Mahindra Nagpur Manufacturing Facility will be developed across 1500 acres in Vidarbha, supported by a 150-acre supplier park in Sambhajinagar.
Once fully operational, the facility will have an annual production capacity of over 5 lakh vehicles and 1 lakh tractors, making it Mahindra’s largest integrated manufacturing footprint in the country.

The Vidarbha region offers strong strategic advantages, including connectivity through the Samruddhi Expressway, robust rail networks, access to domestic and export markets, and a growing industrial ecosystem.
The supplier park in Sambhajinagar will strengthen the manufacturing value chain through improved logistics efficiency, closer supplier collaboration, and enhanced localisation.
It will supply components to the new Nagpur facility as well as Mahindra’s existing plants in Chakan and Nashik.
Mahindra Nagpur Manufacturing Facility: Advanced Manufacturing and Multi-Powertrain Capability
The automotive manufacturing unit will support Mahindra Auto’s next-generation platforms, including the NU_IQ architecture, and will be capable of producing vehicles across multiple powertrains, including ICE, EV, and future technologies, for both domestic and global markets.
Featuring advanced automation and digital manufacturing systems, the Mahindra Nagpur manufacturing facility reflects the company’s focus on innovation, quality, and sustainability.
The tractor manufacturing unit will further strengthen Mahindra’s leadership in the farm equipment sector, serving both domestic demand and key export markets.
In addition, Mahindra will acquire land in the Igatpuri-Nashik region to expand product and engine capacities and support the growth of its Advanced Technology business.
Overall, Mahindra plans to acquire over 2000 acres across three locations in Maharashtra to expand its manufacturing footprint.
